In order to demonstrate the resistance of DuPont™ Plantex® Gold to weed control, we have undertaken the ultimate trial.
DuPont™ Plantex® Gold is an anti-root fabric especially designed to control weeds. To demonstrate the resistance of DuPont™ Plantex® Gold to weed roots, we took up the ultimate challenge: “the lupine test performed by KIWA”.
Why did we take up this challenge?
We warrant the high quality of DuPont™ Plantex® Gold for 25 years*. To prove how resistant this root control fabric is to weeds, we opted for the lupine test. The lupine seeds used in this test are employed in agriculture to strengthen the soil because of their pervasive root systems.
Who is KIWA?
KIWA are an independent test location that belongs to the top 20 of companies in the field of testing, inspection and certification. In KIWA’s independent high-tech test labs products are tested according to local and international rules and regulations.
The lupine test
For the lupine test KIWA planted lupine seeds in a test setup with DuPont™ Plantex® Gold weed control fabric, allowing them a growth period of six weeks. The fact that the penetrating roots of the lupine seeds did not manage to breach the DuPont™ Plantex® Gold in that time, confirms its capacity as a root guard and weed controller.
